Bellevue College Student Success Center

The Journey Starts Here

The Bellevue College Student Success Center serves as both a trailhead and a roadmap for students—a welcoming space for guidance, reflection, and celebration. Mirroring a student’s journey, this ground-up design-build project has entry services on the first floor, student support on the second, and success services on the top floor. Our team worked closely with the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services (DES), navigating value engineering processes and topographical challenges, putting the project on track for LEED Silver certification. To create an inviting entrance, we designed a stunning custom art installation behind the front desk. This cut-wood feature wall, inspired by nearby mountains, provides both aesthetic appeal and privacy for restroom access. The selectively permeable design allows varying levels of visibility, screening foot traffic below eight feet while drawing in light above, reminiscent of slats in an open fence. This element enhances the building’s design language, making the Student Success Center immediately recognizable and welcoming to all who enter.
