Wynne Watts Commons

Livability Enhances Home

Wynne Watts Commons is an innovative, affordable Net Zero Energy project that combines sustainability, accessibility, and comfort. Designed in partnership with Albertina Kerr, this 150-unit complex prioritizes the well-being of its residents, including 30 universal design units for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD). The building fosters independence, with smart-home features like remote-controlled entry doors, app-managed lighting, and mechanized cabinets. The interior design focuses on warmth and accessibility, with vibrant, playful colors and textural finishes enhancing comfort. The ground floor Community Room serves as a dynamic social space with adaptable areas for activities, entertainment, and a kitchen for gatherings. A lively tile backsplash, warm wood flooring, and textured wall finishes enhance the overall experience, while strategically placed colors guide residents through the space. Each residential floor features unique color identities to create a sense of home, while abundant natural light and wood finishes create inviting spaces for connection. Thoughtful design elements, including acoustically enhanced walls, room-darkening shades, and RGB controllable lighting for mood management, ensure a soothing environment. Guest units offer additional support for families. Wynne Watts Commons is a thoughtfully crafted space that promotes sustainable living, independence, and community for all residents.
