Oliver Station

Design Interventions for Protected Public Space

Oliver Station is a cornerstone of the redevelopment of Portland’s Lents neighborhood, designed to promote stability, homeownership, and economic opportunity. Part of the Lents Town Center revitalization, it works to create an equitable, thriving city through job creation, innovation, and affordable housing. The two-block, five-story mixed-use development includes 126 affordable homes, 19 market-rate units, and retail space for women- and minority-owned businesses. A central goal of the Lents Town Center redevelopment is to stimulate economic growth and reenergize the neighborhood. Oliver Station helps bring that vision to life by prioritizing pedestrian accessibility and improving the streetscape. Traffic-calming measures, new bike lanes, wider sidewalks, and generous landscaping enhance safety and accessibility, while a public plaza creates a buffer from busy streets. The project’s design makes the area safer, more pedestrian-friendly, and an attractive destination for residents and businesses. Oliver Station helps revitalize Lents Town Center by supporting local businesses and fostering a vibrant, inclusive community. With its focus on affordable housing, small-business support, and public space improvements, the project strengthens Lents as a safe, welcoming place to live, work, and thrive.
