Inspired by the nearby Bellevue Botanical Gardens, our design for Aegis Living Bellevue Overlake connects residents with nature through every aspect of the building’s layout and materials. This connection between indoors and outdoors was central from the start, shaping everything from the building’s massing to the choice of finishes, all infused with botanical inspiration. Drawing from the elegance of Mediterranean resorts, we created a timeless base palette with warm materials, framed views, and an abundance of natural light pouring in through large arched windows. The building wraps around a central courtyard, or "exterior living room," a private outdoor space visible from nearly every interior amenity. A striking two-story glass conservatory serves as a focal gathering area, while a greenhouse experience on the second floor offers a safe, stimulating environment for memory care residents. The seamless flow of plantings and finishes from outside to inside further blurs the line between nature and home. Upon arrival, residents and guests are welcomed into a glass conservatory adorned with living walls and custom water features, setting the tone for the nature-inspired spaces throughout the building. The lobby draws attention to a koi pond, leading out to a lush courtyard filled with seating and small gardens, reminiscent of the Bellevue Botanical Gardens. Inside, nature-inspired design elements such as stacked stone, warm wood, and organic wall coverings reinforce the biophilic theme, blending elegance with nature. The memory care floor is thoughtfully designed to promote wellness and safety, featuring a traditional walking path, living walls, and an outdoor patio. This level, flooded with natural light, emulates a calming stroll through a park, offering moments of interest and activity along the way. Aegis Living Bellevue Overlake represents the perfect blend of high-end design, biophilia, and holistic wellness. With nature at its core, this project demonstrates our commitment to creating thoughtful, restorative environments for seniors.
