My most memorable career moment was seeing affordable housing residents trying chairs I specified, smiling and giggling like they were in Disneyland.
I find inspiration when wondering and meandering physically and non-physically. Kyoto, Italy, Hawaii, and internet rabbit holes.
I love adventuring with nature, culture, creativity, and food.
I was born in Tokyo, earned my BFA and began my career in NYC before moving to Portland, Oregon.
My first name means "cherry blossom"- the national flower of Japan. My last name means "Forest Valley" which is so Portland.
