The upper portion is set back from the bustling urban Union Street, above a sky-lit restaurant and terrace on the second floor. The white cladding of the hotel relates to historic terra-cotta buildings along Fifth Avenue, harkening back to the turn of the century theater district while the transparent base winks at the shimmering Rainier Square Tower across Union Street.
