Modera Northgate

The Explorer's Landing

Located in Seattle’s up-and-coming Northgate neighborhood, Modera Northgate whisks residents away on a wild adventure where the awe-inspiring beauty of the great outdoors and the creature comforts of home collide. Within the lobby, stone artwork depicting majestic mountain ranges is illuminated behind the front desk, serving as base camp, while a fireplace brings the warmth of a campfire inside. Around the corner, the beautiful indoor wood ceiling, wooden slats, and glass that frame the grab-and-go market elevate the lobby space into the treetops with sensations reminiscent of a treehouse. Inspired by nature and the shared experience of playing in the woods, the “Adventure Camp” creates engaging spaces for adventurous kids. A tent area, chalkboard, and subtle details of clouds and mushrooms encourage imagination and play, while luxurious lounge seats nearby allow parents to watch in comfort. Downstairs, “The Lodge” serves as an alpine retreat for adult explorers. Part bar with a pool table and part lounge space, The Lodge provides opportunities for both work and play. Adjacent coworking spaces and conference rooms – decked out in animal-print patterns and other nods to nature – give residents the luxury of choosing both the flora and fauna they want to work in. Wall decor and light fixtures overhead invoke deer, pinecones, and birds nests, while natural materials like the charred Japanese Shou Sugi Ban ceiling and a double-sided fireplace draw additional, sophisticated connections to nature into the space. Within the fitness rooms, workout machines, a meditation room, and a yoga studio emphasize the balanced approach to health and wellness typical of the modern explorer. Mind-body wellness is further emphasized through biophilic connections – large windows peer into treetop canopies, and an outdoor patio serves as an additional workout space. At the summit of the structure, a shared amenities area opens to the outdoor rooftop patio by way of folding accordion walls, providing a seamless transition onto the green roof. Hosting a community kitchen, banquette and lounge seats, as well as a TV, it’s a place for Modera Northgate’s urban outdoor enthusiasts to come together and share tales of adventure, or to relax after returning home from their latest journey.
